Joesler Residence

Joesler Residence – Historic Home

Joesler designed and built the mud adobe home for his family in Poet’s Corner in the flatlands in 1936. The property was donated to the University of Arizona then later sold for private ownership. The home owners requested to preserve and improve upon the property without decreasing the historic value. The Kitchen and Bathrooms were gutted and remodeled with glass panel finishes combined with new natural gas mechanical rooftop units and Tankless water heater. The second level small room adjacent to the viewing deck was converted into an Office with updated electrical and the associated half bath was also remodeled. The 1936 garage did not meet todays clear space standards so a full size detached Carport was built adjacent to the existing adobe perimeter walls. Materials for the carport was not intended to match the residence but to incorporate basic building materials of the time.
